Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen
A German brewing fixture since 1634, Paulaner has a long history of brewing excellent beer.
Their seasonal Oktoberfest offering, an amber marzen, continues in this tradition. A deep and rich amber color, slightly darker than Fat Tire, the Paulaner Oktoberfest is an extremely smooth beer with a mellow and pleasant taste. Less sweet and more malty than Fat Tire, it contains a more pronounced citrus tone with a slightly bitter finish.
An excellent beer to enjoy outdoors on a fall evening, the Oktoberfest Marzen is definitely worth a purchase. Due to its slightly higher price (where I am located) and seasonal availability issues, I am rating this beer slightly lower than Fat Tire, though its smooth taste and citrus notes provide a taste I do prefer in some ways.
